Catching the Vision

June 9th, 2009

After finishing the first week of camp at Jonathan Creek, we are astounded to see how students are beginning to think outside of themselves.   Approximately 30-40 students this week have named tangible ways they feel God is calling them to move Beyond themselves to have an effect in the lives of the “least of these.”  The video attached is an interview with two students that have caught the vision and had the boldness to share it with their friends.  As you watch, we hope this video begins to inspire you to think about how God is calling you to go Beyond yourself.

What difference can 8,300 Crossings attendees do if they all go BEYOND????

In the past hour……

  • 1625 children were forced to live on the streets by the death or abuse of an adult
  • 1667 children under the age of five died from malnutrition and vaccine-preventable diseases
  • 115 children became prostitutes

The Beyond Effect Begins Now

June 1st, 2009

Starting today, the Beyond Effect officially begins.  Students are starting to gather their thoughts and their ideas and beginning to put them into action.  During this process, students will post their ideas and actions on the message board.  The blog will feature students going beyond in their schools, churches, communities and the world.

How will you go beyond today?  Where can you provide help?  Hope?  Peace?  Jesus?
